Sunset Sessions: Free Popup Concert (June 24, 2022)
Join us at 7:30PM EST on Friday, June 24th, for a free popup concert at sunset in Downtown Kitchener.
The event will be held live at Vogelsang Green in partnership with Downtown Kitchener and the City of Kitchener; bring a friend, a folding chair or blanket to sit on, and be prepared to embrace the community vibes as we enjoy music while the sun sets. We'd love for you to stop by a local restaurant before the show and bring your meal, snacks, and drinks to the green!
Note: this show is not ticketed, but we will be passing a hat to collect donations during the event which will be split between the production crew and artists. PWYC, $20 recommended, and absolutely not obligatory.
RSVP now by grabbing your free ticket, and be entered in a giveaway for one of two self titled vinyls from Excuse Me!
Artists performing at this Sunset Session:
- Amanda Braam: an 18 year old singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. She is actively involved in the music scene in the community and at her high school, having performed at a variety of events such as Riverfest, Elora. She recently won the Dorothy Shoemaker Songwriting Competition’s instrumental category, and Western University's Musician competition in the songwriting category. In January, she independently released her debut album “ladybug basement”. This fall, she will be attending Wilfrid Laurier University in the Bachelor of Community Music program.
Excuse Me.: Excuse Me is Adam Kuhrt, Aleks Liskauskas, Dylan Creed, Heyden Jennekens, and Jo Seymour; a five-piece alternative rock group formed at the University of Guelph in 2017. They started their journey practicing in a cramped bedroom, and now are living together with a home studio. With close to 5 years of songwriting together, their goal is clear: to make art that speaks to people.
Special thanks to the Downtown Kitchener team for helping to make this series possible!
